Spirit Mirror Studio: Spiritual Companionship

Companionship in spiritual pathfinding

One of the mysteries of the spiritual life is that, while no one but you can travel your spiritual path, companionship along the way can be a great help. Only the client is the expert on her or his own spiritual life. In a spiritual companion relationship (sometimes called spiritual direction or guidance), it is important that the client feel supported and respected in being her or his whole self, through all the unexpected twists and turns in a spiritual path.

Laura's Background

Laura Prickett has a passion for experiencing the presence of spirit in everyday life, and for helping to empower others in their spiritual journeys. Since 2002 her spiritual path has emphasized engaging with dreams and beings that appear in her dreams. She practices sitting meditation and Earth-centered ritual, and explores art as a form of prayer. Over 30 years ago, Laura developed her passion for experiencing the presence of spirit as a fundamentalist Christian. When she lost the ability to accept the Bible as literally true, a gaping hole opened up in the center of her life for a period of years – until she began to experience spirit moving in her dreams. Her spiritual rebirth through dreams is the miracle that animates her life. Her deep commitment to spiritual self-empowerment is informed by her experience, as a young person, of succumbing to the appeal of charismatic figures who were absolutely certain about how she should live her life … and only later began to learn how much they did not understand. Laura upholds the Spiritual Directors International (SDI) Guidelines for Ethical Conduct. She is a member of SDI and holds a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Chaplaincy Institute.
